Did you ever have a Pen Pal? Do you remember the first time you received a letter written especially for you? The Classroom Connection brings this special experience to your students through a class-to-class structured letter writing exchange. Classes of same grade and size are matched for geographic and/or socio-economic diversity. Students develop letter writing skills, gain insights and make new friends! The CRUNCH Bunch (Creative Understanding of Nutrition and Childhood Health.. and safety and well-being, too!) program engages children in a creative writing contest where students develop a poem, story, skit, song, etc. on the theme of healthy living, nutrition, child safety, wellness, and lifestyle choices. This research and writing program gives students a chance to see their work published in The NJ Scoop: The Voice of the 4th Grade, an annual publication featuring the “Best of the Best” writing on topics relating to NJ people, places, history, and happenings. Includes regional awards events, incentives and classroom resources. Seven editorial areas and thousands of topics to choose from!
